Vintage 1970 Dakin Goofy Grams "Merlin Mouse" I'll Drink to That! Bar Figurine, Warner Bros. Looney Tunes Barware
-
DetailHere we have a delightfully kitschy piece of vintage barware: a 1970s R. Dakin & Co. "Merlin Mouse" Goofy Grams figurine, dressed in a red velvet jacket and cream cape, tipping back a tiny cocktail glass atop a marbled ivory base reading "I'll drink to that!"
This charming character is Merlin Mouse from R. Dakin & Co.'s "Goofy Grams" line, a series of Warner Bros. Looney Tunes bar figures produced in 1970. He's molded with a rubber head and body, complete with a jaunty black-and-blue top hat, a wired tail, and a red velvet jacket with cream collar tied at the neck with a black cord.
He holds a small clear plastic cocktail glass in one paw and stands atop a marbled ivory plastic base printed with "I'll drink to that!" — a cheeky bit of mid-century bar decor for a home cart, shelf, or collection of Looney Tunes memorabilia.
His whiskers, tail, and glass are all intact, and he displays beautifully.
Dimensions:
Approximately 9" tall x 4" diameter base
Age:
Circa 1970
Condition
Good vintage condition. The painted ceramic base and molded composite figure retain vibrant colors with only light, age-appropriate surface wear. The fabric elements, including his white shirt and red jacket, show gentle fraying and vintage discoloration. The small plastic drink glass is securely intact. Please review the photos to appreciate its full vintage charm.
Maker history:
R. Dakin & Co. was a San Francisco-based toy and novelty company founded in 1955, well known through the 1960s–70s for its licensed plush and vinyl figures, including many Warner Bros. and Disney characters. The "Goofy Grams" line paired Looney Tunes characters with tongue-in-cheek bar sayings, aimed at the era's home cocktail culture — these figures are now sought after by both Looney Tunes collectors and vintage barware enthusiasts.
